Compliance & Testing
Clearshield is designed to AS5039.1 and independently verified to AS5039.3 by a NATA-accredited lab. Translation: the security claims are tested by someone with no reason to flatter them.
- Knife shear (AS4483): standard requires 3. Clearshield achieved 60.
- Dynamic impact (AS5039): 50 strikes at 100 joules.
- SL200 (AS5039.3:2023): passed repeated 200-joule impacts, the higher of the two security ratings.
- Edge impact (AS5041): 50 strikes at 100 joules, tested at the weakest point, the edge.
- Thermal: solar heat gain down ~40%, insulation value up ~14%.
Ask for the test reports if you want them. We keep them.

Construction & Materials
The sheet. Industrial-grade T304 stainless steel, 0.8mm for the home or 1.5mm for commercial. O2mm holes on a 60 degree staggered pitch give 39% open area, so air and light come through while a blade does not. Finished in satin black powder coat.
The frame. 6063-T6 aluminium, anodised to a minimum 15 microns (AS1213) or powder-coated over a chromate pre-treatment (AS3715). Either way it is built for the Queensland climate, not a showroom.

How it is built to last
The bit that matters on the coast. Stainless steel and aluminium sitting against each other corrode. That is galvanic corrosion, and it is what kills cheaper screens within a few salty summers. Clearshield’s patented insulated assembly keeps the two metals apart, so the screen ages slowly instead of staining and weakening at the joins.
No midrail across your view. The crimped-edge design holds the sheet without a bar through the middle. You get the whole window, uninterrupted.
Award-winning, for what that is worth. Good Design Award and ABA100 Product Innovation. We mention it because the design is genuinely clever, not because it needs a trophy.

The cleaning schedule is not fine print. A rinse every few months is the difference between 15 years and a warranty argument. We would rather you knew that up front.

How we measure
The opening, properly : No reveal is perfectly square. We take three measurements across every opening and work to the tightest point, because the screen has to sit hard against the frame on all sides. A few millimetres of slack is all a pry bar needs.
Which windows, and how much of them : On most windows, it is the opening sash that needs securing because that is the part an intruder can work on. The fixed pane can be screened too if you want full, matched coverage across the whole window. We discuss what each window actually needs rather than blanket-screening everything.
How it will fix : Different windows and different brands require different fixing methods, and we work that out during the measure, not on installation day. Frame depth, window type, and whether your windows are aluminium or timber all affect the solution. We also check that the screen will not interfere with the way the window operates.
What it has to comply with : We confirm whether your project requires SL100, the higher SL200, or a BAL bushfire rating. These requirements are verified before you commit, not after.
You get a straight answer and a screen that fits properly the first time.

How we install

A security screen is only as good as the way it is fixed to your house. The strongest sheet in the country does nothing if the frame can be levered off the wall. So we fit every window the way that window needs, and we are licensed to certify it.
The right method for the window, every time. There is no single way to fit a security screen. Depending on the window type, the brand, and the frame depth, the screen might face-fix to the surround, fit into the window channel, or fit inside the reveal. We pick the method that suits the window in front of us. We do not face-fix everything because it is quick.
Fixed so it cannot be defeated. Tamper-resistant fixings into solid structure, screwed or riveted to suit aluminium or timber, with the gap between screen and frame kept tight so there is nothing for a pry bar to grab. Fitted without fouling the way your window opens.
Seated on the insulated system. The patented assembly seats the stainless sheet into the aluminium frame without the two metals touching. It is the step that decides whether the screen still looks good in ten years on a coastal block.
Certified, not just installed. Australian Standard AS5039.2 covers how a security screen must be fitted, and it has to be done by a licensed installer who signs off the work. We fit to that standard, affix the installation compliance label, and our QBCC licence (No. 732582) stands behind it. The product passing its tests means nothing if the install does not match. Ours does.
Then we test it in front of you. Operation and lock checked before we leave. We do not hand over a screen we have not proven works.

Allow 15 to 20 working days from the day you approve your measure. Commercial 1.5mm sheet, SL200 compliance, or a custom colour can add a little. We will give you a real date, not a vague one.
